Description
The IM170 Weather Station is manufactured in the UK in accordance with WMO guidelines. This system provides 10 and 2-minute averages, gust/maximum and minimum recordings.
The Paperless Recorder (PR) is a data acquisition unit with a 5.6″ TFT touch screen. Designed for Wind Speed and Direction only The IM170-SDTH Weather Station is ideally suited for customers who require a Wind speed, Wind direction, Temperature, and Humidity data as the PR offers multiple real-time and historical views, as well as numerous archiving strategies to ensure data is never lost.
The PR is supplied with an HMI screen and PC software.
Please specify your application, sensors required and if a calibration certificate with test results is required when requesting a quotation.
What Is a Weather Station?
A weather station is a complex yet user-friendly setup of instruments designed to monitor atmospheric conditions. From simple thermometers to advanced anemometers and hygrometers, these stations house the tools needed to gather weather data. They can be found in homes, schools, research labs, and professional meteorological departments.
Key Weather Parameters
Measuring Wind Speed
Wind speed plays a pivotal role in forecasting storms and ensuring safety. Instruments like cup anemometers and ultrasonic sensors are commonly used to measure this parameter.
Determining Wind Direction
Knowing where the wind comes from can reveal much about changing weather patterns. Weather vanes or digital sensors detect and record wind direction with precision.
Recording Temperature
Temperature data helps predict weather changes and assess climate conditions. Modern weather stations use digital thermometers for precise and quick readings.
Monitoring Humidity
Humidity affects how comfortable we feel and plays a critical role in weather patterns. Hygrometers or advanced sensors provide insights into moisture levels in the air.
Benefits of Weather Stations
- Improved Weather Prediction: Enables precise forecasts.
- Enhanced Safety: Reduces risks associated with extreme weather.
- Environmental Awareness: Promotes better understanding of climate trends.
