We supply a number of surfaces intended for use when conditioning rubber sliders or validating your Portable Skid Resistance Tester. These surfaces are an essential part of the set-up procedure and are specified in both International Standards and UK Slip Resistance Group Guidelines.
* Rubber Slider Preparation: To ensure accurate, reproducible, robust results, a Rubber Slider should first be prepared using a number of different surfaces. Preparation of each rubber slider prior to use ensures that each slider begins a test in the same condition. The following materials are required to prepare a rubber slider:
- Float Glass
- P400 Conditioning Paper
- Lapping Film (Pink for 4S(96) Rubber Sliders and Green for TRL(55) Rubber Sliders)
* Verification of the Portable Skid Resistance Tester: Once the Rubber Sliders have been prepared and the Portable Skid Resistance Tester has been set up, the instrument should be verified using a number of reference surfaces. Verification provides assurance that the instrument has been set up, and is functioning correctly. The UK Slip Resistance Group and international standards recommend use of the following reference surfaces:
- Float Glass
- Conditioned Pavigres Tile (Supplied with Certificate of Conformity)
- Lapping Film (Pink for 4S(96) Rubber Sliders only)
