Description
With a nominal hardness of 55± 5 IRHD, TRL(55) rubber sliders are normally used to test rough surfaces such as roads and pavements. The TRL(55) Rubber Slider is also used in areas used by barefoot pedestrians such as swimming pools.
Conditioning TRL(55) Rubber Sliders
Before carrying out any testing, it is important to condition your rubber sliders. The conditioning procedure is designed to eliminate variation in results arising from small differences in the rubber slider. When conditioning TRL(55) Rubber Sliders, one should use P400 Paper and Green Lapping Film.
Pendulum Verification with TRL(55) Rubber Sliders
Once the Portable Skid Resistance Tester has been set up, Float Glass, Green Lapping film and a Conditioned Pavigres Tile should be used to verify the equipment. These test surfaces should produce Pendulum Test Values (PTV) which falls within a set range. This process provides assurance that the instrument has been set up and is functioning correctly.
Please Note:
The TRL(55) Rubber Slider meets the requirements of BS 7976-1:2002+A1:2013, BS EN 13036-4:2011 and the UKSRG Guidelines.
