Description
Imperial Pink Lapping Film should be used to prepare 4S(96) rubber sliders prior to use and to reconditon rubber sliders between tests.
The conditioning procedure ensures that you begin each test with the rubber slider in the same state. It smooths the working edge and removes any particles/debris remaining from the previous test surface.
The conditioning procedure is designed to eliminate any variation in results arising from differences in the slider condition. For more information consult our tutorial.
Pink Lapping Film also has a well-defined Pendulum Test Value (PTV) and may be used as a verification surface.
Using a 4S(96) Rubber Slider, and providing your Skid Resistance Tester is set up correctly, you can expect to obtain a PTV of 59-64. If your results fall outside of this range, revisit the set-up procedures detailed in the manual (including replacing/re-preparing the slider). If you are still unable to obtain the expected results, your Portable Skid Resistance Tester may need repair or recalibration. Please contact us for more details.
