Service & Calibration

All of our products are designed to be accurate and durable. Used correctly, each instrument is capable of providing many years of service. However, as with all scientific instruments, they should be treated carefully and serviced periodically.

We recommend servicing your equipment on a yearly basis. Failure to do so may impact the validity of your results and the lifespan of your instrument. We offer a fast turnaround, ensuring minimal disruption and downtime.

Note: For those companies unable to return their pendulum test equipment to the UK, we have recently partnered with Independent Slip Testing Services (ISTS) in Australia. ISTS calibration facilities in Brisbane Australia and Auckland New Zealand offer accurate and prompt calibration and servicing of all British-manufactured pendulum slip resistance measurement devices.

"

The apparatus shall be calibrated after manufacture and recalibrated at least annually and when verification demonstrates non-conformity.”

BS EN 13036-4:2011 (Method for measurement of slip/skid resistance of a surface: The pendulum test)

Servicing

We offer a comprehensive repair, calibration and certification service. This can be tailored to your individual requirements, but a typical service would consist of the following: Calibration and instrument repair service
  • A thorough inspection of your instrument to ensure that it is free from damage and/or contamination. Any repairs/new parts that may be required will be identified at this stage.
  • Communication with the client to explain the nature and cost of the service. We will always request your authorisation before proceeding with repairs.
  • A pre-certification check to ensure that your instrument is calibrated correctly and meets the required standards.
  • Certification of your instrument: On request, the Portable Skid Resistance Testers can be certified in accordance with BS 7976-3:2002 and BS EN13036-4:2011. All other instruments are certified internally. Where applicable, a UKAS-traceable calibration certificate can be issued.
  • The safe return of the instrument to your premises.
